Integral submerged entry nozzle — illustrative product structure
Illustrative structure, not a dimensional drawing. Final designs follow agreed drawings.

Product overview

Here, integral nozzle means a one piece submerged entry nozzle: the inlet seat, tube and submerged end form one component. The seat can work with a stopper. This is a structural member of the submerged nozzle family, distinct from a tube joined through a quick change sliding interface.

Product range
Integral submerged entry nozzles with matched seat, length and outlets.
Application context
Tundish to mould installations arranged for a one piece nozzle.

Application and installation

The inlet sits at the tundish outlet and the continuous tube extends through the bottom into the mould. The diagram includes a stopper; review the full mounting envelope and orientation.

Structure and steel flow

With the stopper raised, steel passes around the nose into the inlet, down the bore and through the submerged outlets. The illustrated version uses side ports.

  1. 1

    Inlet seat

Works with the stopper nose to define the flow gap.

  2. 2

    Integral body

No quick change sliding joint is shown in this continuous body.

  3. 3

    Slag line zone

Position and material depend on immersion and flux.

  4. 4

    Submerged outlets

Opposed side ports and a closed axial base are illustrated.

Name the structure precisely

Integral means one piece SEN here, not a separate upper nozzle.

Check installation space

Review length and mounting with both tundish and mould drawings.

Functions and selection considerations

Continuous passage

The inlet and submerged end belong to a single refractory component.

Stopper matching

The seat and stopper nose must have compatible profiles.

Submerged delivery

Outlet geometry directs steel into the mould below its surface.
